HARE
An iconic mammal of the british countryside.
For more than a decade I have been documenting the lives of Brown Hares in the British countryside. My work has crossed counties and seasons in search of unique images of my favourite mammal. I have spent thousands of hours in their company, looking to explore the landscape in the way they experience it, from picking them out in cold winter scenes, to getting so CLOSE I can inspect their ticks, I simply love working with these long eared fellows!
Within all my work I utilise a range of styles, from classic long lens approaches to more technical work involving remote shooting and camera trap techniques, this more complex methods of shooting allow me to explore a lesser seen world of the brown hare and to bring the viewer a little closer, as well as artistic impressions of this well loved species.
The work has been largely focused in Hertfordshire, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, with the help of the RSPB, local land owners and the Cambridgeshire RCAT Team.
Having had the honour to spend multiple weeks alone on the incredible RSPB Havergate Island (where the hares offer a unique opportunity for close encounters) With the support for the RSPB, I am now running a limited number of exclusive day workshops on the island in the spring. More information can be found on the workshop page.
