meet tom.

About.

After a decade in the business, I’ve been lucky enough to shoot a boatload of images in some incredible places, and work for some wonderful clients with a whole host of fantastic people. I’ve been cold, wet and uncomfortable for more hours than I can count. I’ve been infested by penguin fleas, had a few scary moments in waders (holding very expensive cameras), and built some great camera rigs with nothing more than my Leatherman, cable ties and a fair amount of gaffer tape!

As a wildlife photographer I of course love being in the outdoors, but it’s the challenge of finding a new angle on a subject though photography that really gets me going. It might take me a few months with a camera trap, or require hours on end in a hide, but if there is a cool shot to be had, I’m down for whatever it takes!

Over the last ten years my work has featured in flagship publications. I’ve shot for tourist boards and had images awarded in international competitions. My images have been used for everything from commercial advertising to decorating people’s homes as fine art prints, and my camera trap work has even contributed to scientific research papers. At 25 I was welcomed into the Nikon team as an Ambassador, a true honour that to this day I still pinch myself about. My images are represented by RSPB Images - part of a charity I’ve long supported and worked with.

As a speaker I’ve given talks about my work at over a hundred events, including a talk every year for a decade at The Photography Show and Global Birdfair. I’ve spoken at the Natural History Museum, The RGS Explore conference, as part of events for The King’s Trust for education, Nikon School, and to many corporate and local groups (you can find more about me as a speaker by getting in touch).

I have directed and presented video content for many years, regularly appearing on camera for Wex Photo Video and Nikon. For years I have also been running my own successful YouTube channel where I share photography skills and advice (check it out here, media kit available for corporate enquiries).

When I’m not working you’ll find me exploring with my partner Debs and our gorgeous little dog Addy, enjoying a pub, pie and the odd piña colada… of course with a camera close by!

I look forward to meeting you and working together.

Tom.
