talks that inspire.

Stories from the wild.

I simply love talking to people about wildlife photography. Be that sharing stories from my work in the field, technical presentations helping others to develop, or corporate inspirational days and school visits. Sharing the joy from a life spent in pursuit of images, I focus on the benefits and lessons the process has taught me, as well as sharing some of the highs, lows and memorable moments along the way!

My speaking career started with my first talk at my local nature reserve (back when I was 18!). More than a decade on I’ve given lectures at over a hundred events, from being on the main stage at high profile events such as The Photography Show, the Scottish Nature Photography festival and Global Birdfair, to countless talks for local groups and photography societies. I’ve been invited to share my expertise through the King’s Trust for education, at many in-store days for camera shops on behalf of Nikon, and as part of panel discussions between peers at the RGS.

As a communicator my aim is to help deliver stories that inspire, but focus on the themes that are relevant to my audience. That might be encouraging youngsters to follow their dreams (and pursuing the career they really want) or explaining some of the fundamental techniques to wildlife photographers who want to learn and develop their craft.

I believe a good talk is full of fun, and so all of my presentations are filled with enthusiasm, and built on stories and lessons from my work as a pro. I’ll take you along for the ride, be that working in the UK with some of our most lovable wildlife, or on location overseas tracking down some of the world’s most incredible fauna.
